Chia Oat Pudding

2026-05-11T14:33:48+10:00

I had never tried chia seeds before and decided to take the plunge when I saw them on the shelf next to the quinoa in the health food aisle at the supermarket. Chia seeds have gained so much popularity recently and I must say I hadn't ever heard of them until recently too. Chia seeds are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and can absorb up to 12 times their weight in liquid! Now that I have discovered the wonder that is Chia, I've had to look up some recipes. I tried a few but they did not turn out to be [...]

Again, this one is on my desk at work. The ‘must remember’ & hippopotamus were on the top of a pink note pad. Back in 2011, one of my friends was doing a project & needed people to pose with a note about being beautiful. This was my contribution. I think everyone needs to know they are beautiful & I like to see that constant reminder to myself.

Harley the Pomeranian Gets a New Toy

2019-03-29T21:55:16+11:00

Harley the Pomeranian has been settling in quite well. He now has plenty of toys to keep him occupied when he is home alone or when I am unavailable. He now has: 2x rainbow rubber band balls with bells inside (which is actually a cat toy!) small chew bone (that easily gets lost under the couch) tennis balls tethered by a rope that is shaped like a bone RELATED: Harley the Pom meets a Friend I am a little amazed that he seems to play with all of his toys equally and doesn’t seem overly possessive of them. He inherited a few [...]

This is on another sticky note on my desk at work. If you aim for nothing, nothing will emerge & it’s always fantastic to have something to strive for.

Harley the Pomeranian

2018-08-27T21:56:22+10:00

On Wednesday April 2, I came home from work to find something fluffy with four legs wandering around my house. Earlier in the day, my husband had hinted at getting me an early Easter present. Something to keep me company while he is working on the weekends. I had a feeling I knew what he was hinting at but I didn't really think he would go through with it though. I’m not sure how we will cope when the time comes to choose baby names. We really struggled to name him. I wanted something that would remind us of our [...]

Temperature Tip

2018-08-27T21:48:51+10:00

How many times have you had a recipe that states the temperature in Fahrenheit but your oven only has Celsius? Thanks to Pinterest, this has happened to me more times than I can remember. But it's not just Pinterest, many box mixes (especially cakes, cupcakes & muffins) that I've picked up from the supermarket list a temperature in Fahrenheit. What I find even more bizarre about this is that the rest of the instructions seem to use metric measurements, like grams & millilitres rather than imperial (which is what Fahrenheit is). I have lost count of the number of times I [...]

Rolo Pudding

2022-06-08T13:21:22+10:00

I had some friends over for dinner recently and wanted to make sure there was a dessert element to the meal. I’d seen some amazing crock pot desserts around Pinterest & was looking forward to trying one. My husband suggested making something that was both chocolate and banana. Unfortunately, Pinterest was only able to provide recipes for crock pot choc chip banana bread. Then I had a brainwave: Rolo Pudding. Rolo Pudding is a rich milk chocolate self-saucing pudding made with creamy caramel Rolo chocolate. This is one of my husband’s all-time favourite dessert recipes since my mum made it [...]

The Color Run

2018-11-07T21:44:54+11:00

I had seen photos from The Color Run around the internet. So when I saw an ad for it on tv, I knew I had to sign up. That was in 2012. I'm glad to say I was a part of the first Australian Color Run, which also happened to be the first in the Southern Hemisphere. Unfortunately, I missed out on the 2013 event as I was in America at the time. I signed up for the Grand Prix edition (at Albert Park Lake, the Formula 1 Melbourne Grand Prix track) by myself. But was secretly hoping to find [...]

Heat Pack Tutorial

2026-05-11T14:33:25+10:00

As I make crochet bunnies for the babies when I am invited to a baby shower, I decided I should also make something for the mum to be. In this heat pack tutorial, I show you step by step how to make one for yourself. The design is essentially a small scale pillowcase. […]

2014 Resolutions

2022-07-30T09:40:32+10:00

Starting a blog has been on my mind for a little while, I have finally decided to bite the bullet and give it a go. It’s fitting that the first blog post is about my 2014 resolutions. I created these in the first week of January but am yet to share them with anyone. They started off in point form but I have expanded them since those reading this know absolutely nothing about me. Personal Wear jeans less often - I feel like I always wear jeans, they are my go to. I feel like I'm known as the person [...]
