Protein Pancakes

A friend of my husband introduced this recipe to us. And while my husband has only tried it once, I make these quite often for breakfast, even making them to take to work for lunch. Start with 2 eggs, a banana and 1/4 cup of oats Add all ingredients to a bowl or cup Mix with a stick mix or with a fork until its all combined. If you use a fork make sure its very well combined. Pour pancake mixture into pan & turn down to low heat. Flip when the edges turn matte & bubbles stop forming in [...]

I think it's time for me to clean some of them out & update them again according to what I like & what I will actually use/draw inspiration from. Mexican Coffee Pudding with Kahlúa Whipped Cream

2022-06-19T16:26:15+10:00

A while back, I had some cream in the fridge but didn't seem to have a use for it. So I did some googling and came across a recipe for Mexican Coffee Pudding. Lucky for me, I had all the ingredients in the fridge or pantry. What makes it a Mexican coffee pudding? Coffee in Mexico is often brewed with cinnamon and sugar. But they aren't just added to the coffee after brewing. They are part of the brewing technique. The result is a coffee that is sweet and a little bit spicy. My Mexican coffee recipe is a little [...]

I'm sure nothing would get done if people gave up after the first try. Some people wouldn't have children. Some people wouldn't finish high school or university. Some people wouldn't make it to the top of their field. Some people wouldn't do the right thing. And sadly, some people might not live to see another day.

I have finally jumped on the Divergent bandwagon. I actually don’t think I’m that late either. Although, the best thing about being late to jump on the bandwagon is the remainder of the series has been published & I don’t have to wait to find out what’s next (besides waiting for it to be available at the library). I picked this up from the library on Wednesday night, after waiting for a few months. (I currently have 3 books on hold at the library & another 6 checked out) I only get a chance to read when I take my [...]

They use basic pantry staples and don't ask much from you. Mix, roll, bake, done. They pull their weight without much effort. How to Make Peanut Butter Quinoa Bites at Home Mixing the ingredients the right way Start with quinoa flakes and oats in a bowl. I remind my husband of this quote every now & then. You know those days when nothing appears to be going right & the world seems to be against you? Losing your temper at the drop of a hat & moping around hating everyone? Those are the days I need someone to tell me to stop, take a deep breath, relax and then give me a hug, even if I have been saying horrible things.

Growing Leeks

2018-08-27T21:44:35+10:00

Last week I experimented in the kitchen and purchased lots of things I wouldn't normally buy. Prawns, lemongrass, coriander, sesame oil, fish sauce, leek, and whole red chillis. A few of the items still had their roots attached and it got me thinking. I had seen that you could put spring onions in a glass of water and they would regrow. There should be no reason why anything else with its root intact would be any different. Growing Leeks I did a bit more research and found not much equipment was required. In most cases, just a glass of fresh [...]

I think a lot of wise quotes have come from Buddha & this is one of them. I liken this quote to getting angry at bad traffic. There is nothing that can be done about it & it will probably leave you in a bad mood for the rest of the day. So it's best to just let it go & move on.

Harley the Pom meets a Friend

2019-03-29T21:33:52+11:00

Harley the Pom meets a friend so that when he is older he will be able to interact with other dogs appropriately. Unfortunately, he was too old to go to puppy school. But luckily for us, we know a few people with dogs. There are also a few obedience dog clubs that we can attend if need be. I love the idea of teaching Harley some basic obedience and maybe a trick or two. But perhaps we should start with housebreaking. Harley's personality has developed so much in the month that we have had him. I only had pet fish [...]

I totally agree with this & I think you need to love yourself before you are able to fully love someone else. Self-love is one of the best feelings. It's confident, it's sexy, it's contagious. Although it can come off as being conceited, no one is going to toot your horn for you, you will have to do that yourself.

I (like many people, I'm sure) wish magic was real. My favourite place to find magic is in a book. Admittedly the majority of those are children's books, think The BFG, The Magic Faraway Tree, Harry Potter etc. None the less, everyone needs a bit of magic in their life. I think magic can inspire people to be better & do great things.
