Bucket List

2022-07-30T09:39:44+10:00

buck·et list noun. a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime. A bucket list is a list of things you want to do before you're past your prime & kick the bucket, meaning die. This isn’t an exhaustive or final list, I’m sure there will be much more to add as I continue through life. I have tried to make them as specific as possible, although most of the specific goals have I already completed. Some require funding or travel & all need a fair bit of planning, but most really just [...]

The Parcel Spring 2016

2018-09-15T13:18:33+10:00

I have been so slack in getting The Parcel Spring review organised. I've waited for ages to try most of the products and now that I am watermarking my photos it seems like such a chore. FACE The Body Shop – Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask I was expecting a thick cream-like mask however it was quite runny. There were chunks of what appeared to be seaweed, which I found odd. Overall it left my face feeling smooth & clean. Nude by Nature – Natural Mineral Cover This is my favourite product from this parcel. The shade is a tad [...]

How I use Spare Change

2022-06-18T18:07:10+10:00

Although it is incredibly rare that I have cash to spend, I like to hang on to any spare change I get. Any coins are considered to be spare change. I like to keep them in two ziplock bags, one for gold (one and two dollars) and one for silver (fifty, twenty, ten and five cents). The main use I have for the gold coins is to pay for any parking. I regularly see a client in the city and need to pay for parking while I am there. Honestly, I could park on the street for free and move [...]

The Parcel: Winter 2016

2018-09-15T13:57:08+10:00

The Parcel Winter has quite a few full-size products! Face Burt's Bees - Tinted Lip Balm I got a Burt's Bees lip balm in a subscription box a little while ago & I actually don't mind it. I keep it by my bed and usually put it on before I leave the house and before I jump into bed. I'm not sure I will be using the tinted version before bed, but I have been using it before I leave the house. Garnier - Wake Up Cream I have sampled a few Garnier face creams in the past but I [...]

Firsts

2018-09-28T19:58:42+10:00

Here is a list of a bunch of first things I have experienced. Childhood Airplane trip – 1991: a family trip to Surfer’s Paradise. Wedding – 1992: I was the flower girl at my cousin’s wedding. Sadly that was the first & last time I was a part of a bridal party. Pet – 1992: a goldfish purchased at the Royal Melbourne Show. Ironically I named it Goldie. Teacher – 1993: Mrs. Glasscock, an old lady that taught us really weird songs. Piercing – 1993: I had my ears pierced for my 6th birthday. It was my present from my [...]

My Greatest Achievement

2018-09-28T20:12:13+10:00

If I had have been asked of my greatest achievement before the end of 2014 I would not have known what to say. Lucky for me I completed something that year that I now consider to be my greatest achievement. I participated in The Bloody Long Walk. What started as a fundraiser, team building exercise & promotion also ended up being the most difficult & challenging thing I have ever done. My Greatest Achievement: The Bloody Long Walk The Bloody Long Walk is a 35km walk to raise funds for Mitochondrial Disease, a debilitating genetic disorder that robs the body’s [...]

The Parcel Autumn 2016

2018-09-15T12:20:00+10:00

I was honestly a little sad that there were only 6 products in The Parcel Autumn, after the last Parcel had so much in it. RELATED: The Parcel: Winter 2016 Body OPI Nail Lacquer - Embrace-Dare Ya! If I were to describe this colour to someone I'd call it red Chinese satin. It reminds me of the Chinese style dresses & tops that are made of satin. I actually have one, although it's blue & I am pretty sure it was from Taiwan. I was surprised to see that once I had put two coats of this on my nails it appeared [...]

The Best Day

2018-09-28T20:33:42+10:00

For many people, the best day of their life is their wedding day or the day their child is born. But not me, I was surrounded by people but 17,000 kilometres from my partner. The Best Day The best day of my life was Sunday, May 29, 2011. That evening I saw the Eiffel Tower with my very own eyes. I had dreamed of it for years. It was something I had dreamed of for years.  It was and still is the most amazing thing I have ever seen, yet the photos really don't do it justice. Hoping to one day [...]

My Earliest Memory

2018-09-28T21:02:24+10:00

My earliest memory I have was going to meet my brother in the hospital after he was born. I’m not sure how many days old he was, but I was about 2 years and 8 months old. I remember my grandparent’s driving me to the hospital on a sunny morning. I also remember the car we were in. It was my grandpa's blue WB Statesman. We parked by the clay tennis courts next to the hospital. He was wrapped in a pastel receiving blanket and a nurse gave me two jelly beans for being a good girl. I’ve only recently [...]

2016 Goals

2022-07-30T09:40:01+10:00

I know it is quite a bit late for me to be sharing my 2016 goals but I had a good long, hard think about them this time. There were a few on last years list that I didn't complete but I don't want to repeat those again. Goals Read – I have a bunch of books that have been sitting in my to-read list for quite a while. I have already put about 20 of these on suspended hold at the library so I have no excuse! The majority of the books are business or business biography. Make different [...]

Why I Love My Library

2018-10-20T14:17:04+11:00

I absolutely love my library. I am actually now a member of two libraries. Two libraries mean twice the possibilities! Why I love my library It’s free – all of these things I can do at my library are free. You can borrow books, audio books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, newspapers Online Catalogue – from here I can place a hold on an item, renew the items I have already checked out & suspended items I have on hold. Access to other library catalogues – if there is a book I am after and my group of libraries doesn’t have it, [...]

Book Review: Life and Death

2023-09-18T17:30:59+10:00

As soon as I discovered Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined I knew that I had to read it. This is the Special Edition for the 10th anniversary. It is the original Twilight but the with the genders reversed. So the human is the male & the vampire is the female. The foreword mentions that this was mostly to dispel the thoughts the Bella wasn’t a damsel in distress but rather a human in distress. I didn’t actually have to wait very long for it to become available at the library. Likewise, it didn’t take me very long to read, nine [...]

2015 Review

2022-07-30T09:40:09+10:00

Another year has come to an end. Here is the 2015 review the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Refresh your memory with the original post about my 2015 Goals. Personal Put the phone away– I had moderate success here. I think the getting away from social media has helped with this. I have also turned my emails off on my phone while I am on holidays over Christmas & New Year. Get away from social media– Success! Back in July, the day before my birthday actually, I decided to delete the Facebook & Facebook [...]
