For many people (mostly women) the best day of their life is the day that they get married. Not me, I was surrounded by people but 17,000 kilometres from my partner.
The Best Day
The best day of my life was Sunday May 29, 2011. That evening I saw the Eiffel Tower with my very own eyes. It was also something I had been dreaming of for years. It was and still is the most amazing thing I have ever seen, yet the photos really don’t do it justice. Hoping to one day go to France was the reason I did six years of French in high school.
I stopped for photos at each level after riding the elevator. Then I walked down 200 odd stairs from level two to level one, my legs were quite shaky by the end! I stood on the ground just staring at it. My tour mates thought that I was transfixed, so I told them that I was trying to burn the image into my memory. I was like a kid playing Where’s Wally every time I saw the Eiffel Tower from different parts of Paris.
Since I didn’t have the courage to kiss a stranger, I will have to go back to Paris and back to the top of the Eiffel Tower. I want to kiss at the top of the Eiffel Tower, it’s been on my bucket list for years.

The second best day of my life was the day I went to the Grand Canyon. There was nothing out of the ordinary about this day, just everything worked out perfectly. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious (BBQ ribs, cornbread, and pumpkin spice latte), the entertainment was hilarious, I got another chance to go in a helicopter and the view cannot be described.
