Kathleen2023-06-20T07:11:22+10:00Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels, sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like best. BuzzFeed Yellow is this month's feature channel. BuzzFeed Yellow is an offshoot of the main Buzzfeed channel featuring more fun, inspiring and interesting videos. I love how candid and honest kids can be when you ask them questions. They all seem to have an opinion on adult topics like politics, LBGT, education etc. Often their answers are quite simple and make me wonder why we don't put them in charge! Some of the things [...]
2016 Goals
Kathleen2022-07-30T09:40:01+10:00I know it is quite a bit late for me to be sharing my 2016 goals but I had a good long, hard think about them this time. There were a few on last years list that I didn't complete but I don't want to repeat those again. Goals Read – I have a bunch of books that have been sitting in my to-read list for quite a while. I have already put about 20 of these on suspended hold at the library so I have no excuse! The majority of the books are business or business biography. Make different [...]
Why I Love My Library
Kathleen2018-10-20T14:17:04+11:00I absolutely love my library. I am actually now a member of two libraries. Two libraries mean twice the possibilities! Why I love my library It’s free – all of these things I can do at my library are free. You can borrow books, audio books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, newspapers Online Catalogue – from here I can place a hold on an item, renew the items I have already checked out & suspended items I have on hold. Access to other library catalogues – if there is a book I am after and my group of libraries doesn’t have it, [...]
Book Review: Life and Death
Kathleen2023-09-18T17:30:59+10:00As soon as I discovered Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined I knew that I had to read it. This is the Special Edition for the 10th anniversary. It is the original Twilight but the with the genders reversed. So the human is the male & the vampire is the female. The foreword mentions that this was mostly to dispel the thoughts the Bella wasn’t a damsel in distress but rather a human in distress. I didn’t actually have to wait very long for it to become available at the library. Likewise, it didn’t take me very long to read, nine [...]
YouTube Limelight: BuzzFeed
Kathleen2026-05-13T10:22:57+10:00Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels, sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like best. This month is BuzzFeed. I am very proficient in wasting time thanks to BuzzFeed (both the YouTube channel and their website)! You can find quizzes about which fast food item you are. There are so many articles listing the things you never noticed in the Harry Potter movies. I know I can always rely on Buzzfeed to make me laugh. And most of those are the laugh out loud kind. The Try Guys are [...]
2015 Review
Kathleen2022-07-30T09:40:09+10:00Another year has come to an end. Here is the 2015 review the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Refresh your memory with the original post about my 2015 Goals. Personal Put the phone away– I had moderate success here. I think the getting away from social media has helped with this. I have also turned my emails off on my phone while I am on holidays over Christmas & New Year. Get away from social media– Success! Back in July, the day before my birthday actually, I decided to delete the Facebook & Facebook [...]
The Parcel Summer 2015
Kathleen2018-09-15T12:56:10+10:00This edition of The Parcel Summer is absolutely overflowing with products! I am blown away at the number of products, a total of 11 (counting the shampoo and conditioner as one) plus there is such a variety in the type of products. RELATED: The Parcel: Autumn 2016 Face Paula's Choice - Vitamin C Spot Treatment I haven't had much of a chance to try this out yet. I always forget about it and am pretty conscious of putting layer upon layer of product on my face at any time of the day. I'm also concerned about putting vitamin C on [...]
Post Christmas Clean Up
Kathleen2019-02-25T21:05:11+11:00It's December 27 so that means it's time for the often dreaded Christmas clean up to begin. Christmas is over for another year, it's time to pack away the tree and all of the decorations. I like to think that I'm smart by not having any decorations around the house beside the tree. It saves me storage space for the 11 months of the year that they aren't used. I don't have to worry about dusting them while they are on display. And it also means it doesn't take long to set up or pack up. While Harley didn't help me [...]
YouTube Limelight: Fitness Blender
Kathleen2023-06-20T07:11:09+10:00Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels, sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like best. This month is Fitness Blender. I have been subscribed to Fitness Blender for well over 18 months now. I came across the channel while searching for a HIIT workout to do at home. The videos now include a time bar that progresses as you move through the video, a demo of the next move before it starts, a countdown timer for seconds left doing each move and approximate calories burned calculation that updates continuously. [...]
The Parcel Spring 2015
Kathleen2026-05-13T09:33:15+10:00I actually had some drama relating to this box of the parcel Spring. Shipping was to be anywhere from September 7 -23 so I waited patiently for my parcel. All other times I have received it about a week after the first shipment. After having nothing on September 26, I submitted an enquiry through the online form on the parcel.com.au asking to follow up on my parcel. Two days after this I got an incredibly generic email asking me to patiently wait a further 14 business days from the date of that email for delivery. Then on October 6, I [...]
