Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels, sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like best. This month is Blendtec.
Blendtec became popular in the mid-2000’s with the phrase will it blend. Using the blender to attempt to blend anything from Marbles to iPhones to pool noodles. Their very first video was uploaded to the channel 11 years ago, posing the question will marbles blend? Since then they have uploaded almost 200 videos. I’ve since discovered that they also have a whole YouTube channel dedicated to delicious Blendtec recipes.
You might not know, but the company started their Will it Blend series as a way to show how powerful the product was. I guess you could call it a marketing gimmick. But it worked. Blendtec became a household name and their videos have been viewed almost 300 million times. They have kept themselves relevant by attempting to blend new items including almost all of the iPhones.
Their series has also won a number of awards. Since the success of the Will it Blend series, they have also uploaded a number of recipes. The Cookie Butter looks delicious!

Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels, sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like best. This month is Simply Nailogical.
I originally came across Cristine’s channel when the “100 layers” videos were doing the rounds. You wouldn’t think 100 layers of nail polish could look so creepy! I can’t even begin to imagine how long it took her to do either. Sometimes the second coat of nail polish can take five minutes to dry.
It can be really hard not to laugh out loud while watching Cristine. I find her quite relatable and really funny. Plus I really don’t know how she has managed to come up with so many ideas for videos that involve nail polish.
I have had success using the water marble technique on my nails, although as you can see from the video it gets pretty messy. While the end result looks amazing, all of the efforts that go into making water marble nails just isn’t worth it. I think Cristine got the best results with the shoes. I wonder how long it would last or if it would peel off once its dry. I’m certainly not game to give it a go.
You can see more of Cristine from Simply Nailogical on her YouTube channel.
Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels, sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like best. This month is Gigi Gorgeous.
I actually saw the trailer for This is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous for the first time a week or two before it was released. I made a note to watch it but it was a little while before I had the time to give it my full attention. This fun documentary follows the path of Gigi Gorgeous. It covers parts of her life that haven’t been showcased on her YouTube channel. Gigi started uploading videos to YouTube in 2008, there are now almost 500 videos on her channel. The videos range from vlogs, fashion and beauty, relationships, as well as Q&A. Below is the trailer for the This is Everything documentary.
If you have YouTube Red, you can see the full documentary here. If you don’t have YouTube Red you can sign up for a 1-month free trial. YouTube Red also means that you can avoid the advertising that often appears before the videos and sometimes in the middle.

Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels, sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like best. This month is Nadine from Hey Nadine.
Having just returned from Hawaii, I was smart and researched a few travel tips in advance. I’m not new to international travel, but it’s handy to see what else I can do to improve my experience.
On my trip to Europe my luggage weighed 10kg when I checked in at the airport. On the other hand, when I flew home it was about 26kg. This left me plenty of room for souvenirs and new purchases. Plus it meant in the few hotels that didn’t have elevators it wasn’t too much trouble to lug my suitcase up the stairs.
A small first aid kit doesn’t go astray either. I know I went through quite a few band-aids from all of the walking. Although I do think your feet get used to all the walking.
Nadine has videos about different travel destinations. There are entire playlists dedicated to North America, Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa and South America.
You can see more travel vlogs, travel hacks, tips and advice, destination and packing guides and general wanderlust from Nadine on her YouTube channel, Hey Nadine.
Each month I feature one of my favourite YouTube channels. Sharing the little things I like about them and of course the video I like the most. This month is TED Talks. Unfortunately, almost all of the videos on this channel are over 10 minutes long, which doesn’t really make for quick viewing.
TED Talks are influential videos from expert speakers on education, business, science, tech and creativity. I find they are particularly good for motivation. And sometimes I am looking to learn something new.
The video above details how comedian James Veitch tried to unsubscribe to a local supermarket mailing list.
James says “anything can be fun if you find the right game”, which really reminds me of Mary Poppins. But he makes a great point.
I’m sure there will many more occasions that I feel the need to share more from this channel but you can click here to see more TED Talks.
You can also access many of these great topics from the various TED podcasts channels. The podcasts are particularly great for learning a little bit of information on a new topic. Many have enlightened me into a new way of thinking, shedding some light on particular issues or just provide me with more general knowledge.
