Autumn Bucket List

The first term break for the school year is fast approaching. Who knew that term 1 would be a mere 8 weeks long? A tiny benefit of the school holidays is generally less traffic during peak hour on the roads. Although I barely drive in peak hour these days! If I am totally honest, most of the inspiration for these ideas have come from my own childhood. I used to bat a balloon back and forth with my brother in the lounge room. Make sure you remember to move the valuables! Sleepovers happened at least once a week during the [...]

The 30 Days I Gave Up Coffee

2020-03-18T22:20:16+11:00

THE CHALLENGE I gave up coffee, for 30 days in a row. Call me crazy but I gave up coffee. I had my last beautiful brew on Friday, January 12. We are coming up to 13 years together this year. It feels like a lifetime and it won't be long before we have known each other for more than half of our lives. The [...]

Why You Should Donate Blood

2021-04-30T17:03:36+10:00

It only takes an hour to donate blood, but it could save someone’s life. A few years ago I decided that I wanted to donate blood. I was disheartened that I wasn’t able to complete my first donation. You see, I am a fainter. I don’t like needles. I really don’t like having blood taken. Even talking about it often makes me go weak at the knees. But I just felt really strongly that this was something that I needed to do. I felt so strongly about it that I became emotional thinking about it. Since that first attempt, I [...]
