Quote Monday

I'm sure nothing would get done if people gave up after the first try. Some people wouldn't have children. Some people wouldn't finish high school or university. Some people wouldn't make it to the top of their field. Some people wouldn't do the right thing. And sadly, some people might not live to see another day.

I have finally jumped on the Divergent bandwagon. I actually don’t think I’m that late either. I remind my husband of this quote every now & then. You know those days when nothing appears to be going right & the world seems to be against you? Losing your temper at the drop of a hat & moping around hating everyone? Those are the days I need someone to tell me to stop, take a deep breath, relax and then give me a hug, even if I have been saying horrible things.

I think a lot of wise quotes have come from Buddha & this is one of them. I liken this quote to getting angry at bad traffic. There is nothing that can be done about it & it will probably leave you in a bad mood for the rest of the day. So it's best to just let it go & move on.

I totally agree with this & I think you need to love yourself before you are able to fully love someone else. Self-love is one of the best feelings. It's confident, it's sexy, it's contagious. Although it can come off as being conceited, no one is going to toot your horn for you, you will have to do that yourself.

I (like many people, I'm sure) wish magic was real. My favourite place to find magic is in a book. Admittedly the majority of those are children's books, think The BFG, The Magic Faraway Tree, Harry Potter etc. None the less, everyone needs a bit of magic in their life. I think magic can inspire people to be better & do great things.

Again, this one is on my desk at work. The ‘must remember’ & hippopotamus were on the top of a pink note pad. Back in 2011, one of my friends was doing a project & needed people to pose with a note about being beautiful. This was my contribution. I think everyone needs to know they are beautiful & I like to see that constant reminder to myself.

This is on another sticky note on my desk at work. If you aim for nothing, nothing will emerge & it’s always fantastic to have something to strive for.
