Why I Love My Library

2018-10-20T14:17:04+10:00

I absolutely love my library. I am actually now a member of two libraries. Two libraries mean twice the possibilities! Why I love my library It’s free – all of these things I can do at my library are free. You can borrow books, audio books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, newspapers Online Catalogue – from here I can place a hold on an item, renew the items I have already checked out & suspended items I have on hold. Access to other library catalogues – if there is a book I am after and my group of libraries doesn’t have it, [...]

2015 Review

2018-10-20T20:27:23+10:00

Another year has come to an end. Here is the 2015 review the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Refresh your memory with the original post about my 2015 Goals. Personal Put the phone away– I had moderate success here. I think the getting away from social media has helped with this. I have also turned my emails off on my phone while I am on holidays over Christmas & New Year. Get away from social media– Success! 2015 Goals

2019-07-14T10:44:55+10:00

Resolutions seem to be tied to those two things, things that tend to appear on a few people’s lists. So goals seem to be a more fitting word. Personal Put the phone away – Put my phone in the drawer or in my bag while I’m at work. [...]

The Bloody Long Walk

2019-05-19T17:48:49+10:00

Towards the end of August one of my colleagues suggested we do The Bloody Long Walk. A few others agreed & I also got roped into it. The Bloody Long Walk is a 35km challenge to cure Mitochondrial Disease, a debilitating genetic disorder that robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure & potentially death. The walk starts at the iconic Victoria Park football ground in Abbotsford, follows the main Yarra trail to Crown Casino, continues down alongside the tram tracks to Port Melbourne & concludes at North Road Reserve in Brighton. The Bloody Long Walk training We started our [...]

2014 Resolution Update

2018-08-27T22:12:28+10:00

Here is the 2014 resolution update of the original list that was my first ever blog post. I think I'm safe to say I'm on track with about half of them. Personal Wear jeans less often - I'm not doing so well with this now the weather is colder now. Maybe I need to get some more pairs of other pants. Read 100 books - I am a little behind on this but still on track enough to read all 100 books. Create a blog & possibly a youtube channel - The blog has moved from blogger to a .com [...]
